Pastor Rex grew up with six brothers and sisters in United Methodist parsonages all over western Pennsylvania. He went to college at Penn State to study engineering before receiving a call to the ministry, met his wife Kelly at Wesley Woods when they were both counselors, and graduated from seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 1985.

He and Kelly adopted two children from Korea: Andy is 27 and lives in Newport News, VA, and Shannon (25) and her little boy Nikko live with him. After a long battle with chronic pain syndrome, Kelly died in 2013.

Rex has been a United Methodist pastor for 33 years now, having served churches in Somerset, Allegheny, Washington, Lawrence, and Mercer counties before coming to Bethel. He especially enjoys worship, singing, children, games, and telling Bible stories.

Biking, canoeing, reading, and politics are among his hobbies.

Local Licensed Pastor Pamela Ramsey, received her very first appointment on April 1st of 2017, April Fool’s Day!  God does have a sense of humor!  Her appointment is Associate Pastor and Youth Director.

After a horrendous life threatening illness Pam heard the calling of God to come and work for Him in Ministry.  Her vision was to pastor a church, God’s vision for her was to pastor the youth at Bethel UMC.  With great trepidation and anxiety she walked forward leaning into God’s plan and has not looked back.  Knowing God does not make mistakes was her light on the path.  Pam believes that when God puts us into situations that we have no prior experience, it makes us all the more dependent on God to get us through!
